About the Client
Research shows that when children are properly fed, they can achieve greater developmental, social, and academic success. That’s where Student Nutrition Ontario comes in. Through province-wide student nutrition programs, Student Nutrition Ontario supports a dedicated community that enables students to eat, learn, and succeed. They also share knowledge and best practices to foster community connections and drive student health, wellbeing, and success.

The Challenge
When Sparked was connected with Student Nutrition Ontario, the organization was in the process of developing a training program to certify their volunteers in safe food handling practices. To deliver the course effectively, they wanted to take it online. They needed a partner to develop a bilingual learning management system that would allow 40,000 users to take the course, complete exams, and be issued a certificate in their language of choice. Sparked was ready to assist.

The Solution
Working within the framework of their existing website, Sparked developed a solution that would achieve Student Nutrition Ontario’s goals. After receiving the final course content, Sparked began by developing designs for the online course experience. Our team then used a proven and fully-integrated solution to take the content online.
It was important to Student Nutrition Ontario that the course be available in both English and French. They also needed access to key metrics for reporting purposes. Sparked ensured both goals were met using a WordPress-compatible solution.
Prior to launch, our team tested the solution extensively and provided the client with a backend walkthrough. Post-launch, we optimized the solution for performance and assisted with the rollout.

The Results
The results of this project met and exceeded the client’s expectations. Today, we continue to maintain the solution for Student Nutrition Ontario and provide support for any questions they have.
