About the Client
Located in Etobicoke, Aphrodite Cooks is a premier culinary destination led by a passion for food and connection. In their beautiful studio kitchen, they offer hands-on public cooking classes, private group events, and corporate team-building parties. Beyond the classroom, they provide exceptional catering services for events across the GTA. It is a place where food lovers come together to learn, create, and taste.

The Challenge
When Aphrodite Cooks approached Sparked, their online presence wasn’t reflecting the vibrancy of their in-person experience. The website’s design felt outdated, causing the business to look behind the times. Furthermore, the e-commerce functionality for booking classes and purchasing gift cards had become dated and visually unappealing. Internally, their team struggled with a backend system that was difficult to maintain, making daily operations a challenge.

The Solution
To tackle this transformation, our team embraced the client’s new logo and colour palette to craft a visual identity that felt fresh, modern, and inviting. Knowing that food is a sensory experience, we designed the layout to highlight stunning photography of delicious dishes and people enjoying hands-on cooking classes. This immediately elevated the brand perception and showcased the beauty of their physical studio.
To address the usability issues, we overhauled the site architecture to make navigation intuitive and the copy engaging. On the technical side, we rebuilt the entire website using a modern page builder and WordPress, ensuring it was robust yet flexible.
The core transformation lay in the e-commerce solution. We reimplemented WooCommerce to better handle class bookings and gift card sales. We streamlined the checkout process to reduce friction for customers while simultaneously simplifying the backend for the Aphrodite Cooks team. The result is a seamless system that looks great and works perfectly.
