MDBriefCase & RxBriefCase

Sparked revitalizes two medical education brands with distinct yet cohesive websites.

01

Meet MDBriefCase

About the Client

MDBriefCase is a leading provider of online continuing medical education (CME) and professional development for healthcare professionals. With a global community of over 280,000 members across Canada, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East, they provide accredited course modules for physicians, nurses, medical residents, and pharmacists.

02

Revitalizing a Former Brand

The Challenge

While MDBriefCase serves a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals, their branding was causing confusion. Years prior, they had decommissioned their specific “RxBriefCase” brand to simplify operations, moving everything under the “MDBriefCase” umbrella. However, the “MD” in the name implied the content was exclusively for medical doctors, often alienating their pharmacist audience. To support lead generation and improve the user experience, the client needed to clarify their audience segments and bring the RxBriefCase brand back to life.

03

Two Brands, One Vision

The Solution

Sparked Digital executed a strategic “divide and conquer” approach. First, we managed the brand relaunch of RxBriefCase, adapting the existing identity to create a new logo and colour palette that focused specifically on pharmacists. The goal was to create distinct brands that feel part of the same family.

We then designed and developed a brand-new website for RxBriefCase. To ensure consistency, we utilized similar layouts, fonts, and image directions for both brands, while distinguishing them through unique colour schemes and content. Following the launch of the Rx site, we redeveloped the MDBriefCase website to match this new, improved architecture.

Crucially, the new designs focused on user retention and course completion. We implemented findings from a comprehensive website audit to clarify key messaging and bring course content front and centre, making it easy for users to search, discover, and register for education modules. The technical build included an integration with their LMS platform and translation capabilities.

A cohesive digital ecosystem that delivers the right educational content to the right healthcare professionals.

04

Clarity for the Community

The Results

The strategic separation of the websites has successfully clarified the user journey. By establishing clear digital homes for both physicians and pharmacists, MDBriefCase and RxBriefCase can now speak directly to their respective audiences, reducing brand confusion and supporting stronger lead generation and engagement.
