Keagan Gillies

As Head of Business Development, I’m the first touchpoint many of our prospective clients have with Sparked, and I enjoy representing our brand in this way.

My passion is digging into the individual needs of prospective clients, and tailoring a holistic approach to solving their biggest digital challenges. I take pride in forming relationships, building trust, and overseeing a smooth client onboarding process.

I hold a degree in business studies and marketing, which has allowed me to understand the complexities of today’s marketing landscape. Prior to joining Sparked, I was a marketing specialist at a large healthcare company. I also completed a certification in Google Analytics and guest lectured on email marketing strategies.

I find the most joy when delivering an exceptional experience to our clients, and knowing that my work has helped them reach their business goals. Working with people has always been my passion, and striving towards solutions that help our clients optimize their strategies is what makes this worthwhile for me.

When not helping our clients, I’m playing hockey, watching hockey, and generally breathing everything hockey has to offer. Go Leafs!

Anthony Ramsundar

Over my 20-year career, my passion has always centered on finding right-fit technology solutions to solve tricky business problems. I bring this same passion to my role as co-founder and CEO of Sparked.

By contributing both technical expertise and a strong business acumen, I focus on using digital solutions to help our clients modernize their marketing technology stack, level up their online presence, and increase their overall brand equity.

Having worked for years previously on the client side, I have a keen understanding of what matters most to businesses. I try to link technology solutions to business results and I’m extremely passionate about helping businesses make informed and confident decisions. There are too many bad agencies out there, and I’m on a mission to change that.

Before co-founding Sparked Digital, I was the digital marketing director at Canada’s largest community healthcare company. Prior to that, I worked as the head of web and development at a major global travel agency where my team won several web awards. I also worked as a web manager for a leading Canadian hosting and domain provider.

I have a degree in computing information sciences, and certification training with Google, Microsoft, HubSpot, Sitecore, and more.

When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family and whippet, worming my way through whatever video game has caught my attention, building computers or reading about black holes.

Karina (Barker) Ramsundar

I’m the co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of Sparked, and oversee our creative team by bringing my expertise in brand positioning, messaging, information architecture and copywriting to all our clients.

My passion is helping brands connect with their audiences, through content delivered in the right place at the right time, so they can shine online and get the most out of their digital space.

Over the years, I’ve helped our clients see transformational results by developing content strategies and messaging that helps them meet their business goals – whether that’s leads, brand recognition or a more engaged audience.

Throughout my career, I’ve been involved with The Forum as a Mentor for women entrepreneurs (2023-current) where I provide guidance on topics like marketing and content strategies. I’ve also held roles as Expert-in-Residence at the DMZ where I had the opportunity to coach over 30 startups on brand positioning and copywriting (2023-current). In 2019, I had the pleasure of being an instructor of copywriting at George Brown College.

During my career, I have been invited to deliver webinars and talks on the art and science of copywriting to audiences from across an array of industries. My work has been published in print and online in notable places like Forbes, and I’ve written copy for over 100+ SMEs, startups, and Fortune 500 companies.

I hold a degree in social sciences and have completed post-graduate programs in copywriting, business writing, and marketing.

I believe the recipe for successful copy includes in-depth audience research, a high level of empathy, and the use of clear, concise, and accessible language.

While my craft is my passion, when I’m not helping our clients, I’m usually spending time with my family at our northern Ontario cottage and learning new ‘old’ skills – like how to forage, seed save, or ferment vegetables from our garden.
