About the Client
In 2023, the Hydrogen Council and IPHE partnered to create a new initiative, H2-DEIA, that champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the global hydrogen economy. Committed to the core values of increasing diverse representation and a culture of inclusion and equity, H2-DEIA brings together partners to help shape a skilled and diverse workforce essential to the nascent clean hydrogen industry.

The Challenge
To support the communication objectives of H2-DEIA, the initiative needed a brand kit and website. Having worked with the Hydrogen Council for years, the Council approached Sparked to see if we could assist. They were looking for a logo, colour palette, and fonts to help establish the H2-DEIA brand, as well as a WordPress website that could be delivered in 7 languages. Sparked was happy to take on the challenge.

The Solution
The first step our team took was to solidify a brand identity that would take H2-DEIA into the future. We developed several logo and brand concepts for the partners to choose from — and it wasn’t an easy choice. Once we had that locked down, our team mapped out a website architecture and drafted copy aligned with the new brand identity.
Next, website design and development took place. Our designer created a full set of stunning, clickable prototypes that worked seamlessly for both desktop and mobile. Then, our development team turned the designs into a live website that included features such as WCAG 2.1 compliance, GDPR compliance, translation enablement for 7 languages, a contact form, and SEO configuration. After launch, we optimized the website for performance and began hosting and maintaining it.

The Results
As a result of our work, H2-DEIA’s website is visually appealing, easy-to-navigate, and built to last. Today, we continue to support the website with fully-managed premium website hosting and backend maintenance.
“When the Hydrogen Council team reached out to us to do branding and a website for their latest initiative, it was an instant yes. It was fun to work on this project, and I think the result is a gorgeous website that will take them into the future.”
